YouTube is testing a new feature that may allow users to adjust audio quality separately from video quality, a long-requested improvement. Currently, audio remains fixed at 128kbps Opus format regardless of video resolution. However, new code strings in the latest YouTube beta suggest users may soon choose between Auto, Normal, and High audio quality options. This feature appears to be exclusive to YouTube Premium subscribers and might not be available for all videos. If implemented, it would mark a major upgrade to YouTube’s streaming experience, offering users greater control over their listening quality.
