MWC 2025: what to expect?

Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 is set to take place in Barcelona from March 3rd to March 6th, featuring new smartphone launches, AI-focused features, and announcements from major manufacturers. Key events begin on March 2nd with press conferences from Xiaomi, HMD, and Honor, offering a preview of what’s to come at the event.

Xiaomi It’s already been confirmed that Xiaomi is launching the 15 series on March 2nd, with the regular 15 and 15 Ultra expected to appear.

Nothing Nothing has been busy teasing its 3A series, which will launch on March 4th. The company has confirmed that it’s introducing its first triple camera, with a 3x optical zoom periscope lens, and it’s confident enough to have shown off some snaps alongside results from an iPhone 16 Pro Max.

Samsung First revealed as the “one more thing…” at the end of January’s S25 keynote, the Edge is an extra-thin entry in the company’s flagship line. Last year, Samsung used that slot to tease its Galaxy Ring wearable before letting us go hands-on with one at MWC, so there’s every chance we’ll get a better look at the Edge this time around.

Google Google typically avoids major hardware announcements at MWC but often kicks off the event with Android updates. Last year, it highlighted the integration of Gemini into the Messages app, and this year, similar minor updates are expected, likely focusing on the Gemini AI assistant.

HMD HMD is one of a few companies that has confirmed a press conference for March 2nd, issuing teasers that promise “Two icons. One device,” and show off both the iconic Nokia game Snake and HMD’s sponsorship of FC Barcelona. Its event is even being held at the soccer team’s Camp Nou stadium.

We’re not sure what that all means, though. Last year HMD — long the manufacturer of modern Nokia phones under license — used MWC to reveal the first smartphones under its own name, along with a Barbie-branded flip phone. At the time, it promised more collaborations to come, so perhaps the first Barcelona-branded handset is on the way

Lenovo Lenovo hasn't officially announced its MWC 2025 plans, but leaker Evan Blass has revealed images of upcoming devices, including laptops, tablets, and gadgets. The most notable is the ThinkBook Flip, a laptop featuring a foldable screen that can expand for a larger display or fold away when not in use. These products are expected to debut at MWC in Barcelona.

Honor Honor has scheduled a press conference for March 2nd at MWC 2025, focusing on its new corporate vision called the "Alpha Plan" rather than new hardware. This follows the recent launch of its Magic 7 Pro flagship line. While no new phones are expected, Honor has hinted at an announcement regarding "cross-system connectivity with iOS devices," suggesting a mix of strategic and consumer-focused updates.

Realme Realme has two major announcements planned for MWC 2025. The first is the global (European) launch of the Realme 14 Pro series, featuring a unique color-changing finish that shifts from white to blue in temperatures below 16°C (61°F). The second is the tease of a new phone with an ultra-large sensor and DSLR-inspired hardware. While Realme has avoided the flagship market so far, it remains unclear whether this new device will compete with premium models like the Galaxy S25 Ultra or aim to undercut competitors with a more affordable price.

Tecno Tecno has already teased a variety of announcements for MWC, centered around the launch of the Camon 40 series of phones. These will feature updated camera software that the company says can more accurately capture a diverse range of skin tones.

TCL TCL is expected to continue its tradition at MWC 2025 by showcasing new phones featuring its Nxtpaper E Ink-like displays, offering a unique alternative to traditional smartphone screens.
