iPhone 16 series is now available in Indonesia

After a 166-day hiatus, Apple’s iPhone 16 series is finally available for purchase in Indonesia, marking the end of a prolonged ban that had kept the devices off local shelves. The full lineup — iPhone 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro, 16 Pro Max, and the newly introduced iPhone 16e — can now be bought through authorized Apple resellers such as Digimap and iBox, with deliveries expected within 1 to 3 business days.

The ban, which began in late October, stemmed from Apple’s failure to meet local investment requirements. Negotiations between Apple and the Indonesian government followed, with reports suggesting Apple had at one point offered to invest up to $1 billion.

The matter was eventually resolved with a final agreement of a $300 million investment by Apple. This deal includes the establishment of a manufacturing facility for AirTag trackers, a separate accessories factory, and future R&D centers. Apple is also committing to support local educational academies, helping foster tech talent in the country.

With the ban lifted, Apple reaffirms its presence in the Indonesian market, while also contributing to the nation's economic and technological development.
