Apple Replaces iPhone SE with iPhone 16e: Durability and Features Tested

Apple Replaces iPhone SE with iPhone 16e: Durability and Features Tested

Apple has discontinued the iPhone SE and replaced it with the iPhone 16e, which is pricier than any SE model but still slightly cheaper than the iPhone 16. The 16e sacrifices a second camera, some A18 chipset features, and color variety, as it's only available in black and white.

YouTuber Zack from JerryRigEverything tested its durability. The screen scratches at level 6 on the Mohs scale, with deeper marks at level 7. It has an aluminum frame, metal buttons, and mesh-covered speaker grilles for water resistance. The glass back and screen withstand heat, with minor visible damage after a reboot. In the bend test, the phone remains sturdy.

Inside, the 16e lacks MagSafe magnets and features a new battery removal process using a 9V battery and alligator clips. Its single 48 MP camera has standard OIS rather than sensor-shift stabilization.
