YouTube Premium Lite
YouTube has launched a new Premium Lite subscription plan, offering an affordable way to watch ad-free content on the platform. Priced at $7.99/month (around Rs. 695), this plan provides ad-free streaming of most videos. However, it does not include YouTube Music, meaning users will still see ads on music content and won’t have access to features like background play or offline music downloads.
Currently available in the US, the plan will expand to Australia, Germany, and Thailand soon. The Premium Lite plan is cheaper than YouTube's regular Premium plan, which costs $13.99/month (around Rs. 1,200), but it still allows ads in some areas like music videos and YouTube Shorts.
This new offering marks YouTube’s 20th anniversary and is part of its efforts to provide different ways for users to enjoy content while continuing to grow its subscriber base of 125 million.
