Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7 Battery Details Leaked via Certification

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7 Battery Details Leaked via Certification

Samsung is expected to officially unveil the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 in early July 2025, but ahead of the launch, both foldables have passed UL Demko certification in Denmark, revealing key battery details for each device.

Galaxy Z Fold7 Battery Capacity Remains Unchanged The Galaxy Z Fold7 will feature a dual-cell battery setup—with rated capacities of 2,126 mAh and 2,146 mAh, bringing the total to 4,272 mAh. Samsung is likely to market this as a 4,400 mAh typical capacity, the same as previous generations. This marks the fourth consecutive year the Fold series has stuck with the same battery capacity, dating back to the Galaxy Z Fold3 in 2021. Interestingly, the Fold2 actually had a slightly larger 4,500 mAh battery, raising questions about why Samsung hasn't increased capacity since then.

Galaxy Z Flip7 Gets a Modest Battery Upgrade On the other hand, the Galaxy Z Flip7 will come with two battery cells as well—1,189 mAh and 2,985 mAh, for a total of 4,174 mAh. Samsung is expected to round this up to a 4,300 mAh typical capacity in marketing materials. This marks a 300 mAh increase over the Galaxy Z Flip6, which may not seem major, but it's a welcome improvement for users seeking better battery life on a compact foldable.

Still Stuck at 25W Charging Despite advancements in battery technology, both the Z Fold7 and Z Flip7 will once again be limited to 25W wired charging, a specification that remains unchanged since the Galaxy Z Fold2 (2020) and Galaxy Z Flip4 (2022). In an era when many competitors are offering significantly faster charging speeds, this decision may leave some users disappointed.

What to Expect Next With the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7 expected to launch in just a couple of months, more leaks and certifications are likely to emerge. While Samsung appears to be making small improvements to the Flip7’s battery, the lack of upgrades to the Fold7’s battery and charging specs may draw criticism from power users who expected more innovation in this area.

Stay tuned as more official details are revealed ahead of the July launch.
