Qualcomm has scheduled a product launch event for Wednesday, April 2, where it is expected to unveil its next-generation Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset. Unlike a more powerful variant of the Snapdragon 8 Elite, this new chip will serve as the successor to the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, which powered upper mid-range smartphones like the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra, Honor 200 Pro, and Poco F6.
Snapdragon 8s Gen 4: Expected Specs According to leaks, the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 will feature a 1+3+2+2 core architecture, including:
1x Cortex-X4 prime core @ 3.21 GHz
3x Cortex-A720 cores @ 3.01 GHz
2x Cortex-A720 cores @ 2.8 GHz
2x Cortex-A720 cores @ 2.02 GHz
The chipset will also come with an Adreno 825 GPU, a scaled-down version of the Adreno 830 found in the Snapdragon 8 Elite. It is rumored to include 6MB of SLC cache and 8MB of L3 cache, with performance scores exceeding 2 million on AnTuTu.
Launch Timeline The first smartphones featuring the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 are expected to launch in late April, with the iQOO Z10 Turbo Pro and Redmi Turbo 4 Pro among the first devices to adopt the new chipset.
