Nvidia: Affordable AI Supercomputer for Developers

Nvidia has announced Project Digits, a personal AI supercomputer set to launch in May. Powered by the new GB10 Grace Blackwell Superchip, it’s compact enough to fit on a desk and run from a standard power outlet, yet powerful enough to handle advanced AI models with up to 200 billion parameters. Priced starting at $3,000, it looks similar to a Mac Mini.

Each Digits system includes 128GB of memory and up to 4TB of storage, with the ability to link two systems for even more power, supporting models with up to 405 billion parameters. The GB10 chip delivers 1 petaflop of AI performance, performing 1 quadrillion calculations per second, and features advanced cores for efficient processing.

Digits comes with Nvidia’s AI software tools, including pre-trained models and development kits, and runs on a Linux-based OS. It supports popular frameworks like PyTorch and Python, making it accessible for developers to fine-tune and deploy AI models.

Nvidia aims to make AI mainstream by putting powerful, affordable supercomputers on the desks of researchers, developers, and students. This follows their recent release of the $249 Jetson Orin Nano Super, targeting hobbyists and startups.
