As India moves closer to finalizing a trade deal with the US, HP announced plans to expand its manufacturing operations in the country. Led by India's ₹17,000-crore production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme for IT hardware, HP has already doubled its manufacturing output in the past year and aims for continued growth. India MD Ipsita Dasgupta said HP is ramping up production with partner Dixon, focusing on all-in-one PCs, desktops, and laptops. The company is also expanding into Tier 2 and Tier 3 towns with new retail formats like ‘HP Connect’ to target MSMEs and households. Dasgupta emphasized that the growing local manufacturing ecosystem is enabling HP's rapid scale-up.
