ChatGPT Can Now Replace Gemini as the Default Assistant on Android

The latest beta update of the ChatGPT app for Android allows users to set it as their default digital assistant, replacing Gemini. Once enabled, ChatGPT can be accessed by long-pressing the home or power button or swiping up from the bottom corners, launching directly into voice mode. However, unlike Gemini, it lacks a hotword activation feature due to API restrictions. The update is currently in beta, so non-beta users may need to wait for wider availability.
