Android 16 May Bring Custom Clocks to the Notification Panel

A new feature discovered in the Android 16 Beta suggests that custom lock screen clocks may soon appear in the Notification panel. Mishaal Rahman from Android Authority found the feature hidden in the code and managed to activate it for a brief demonstration.

Alongside this, Android 16 introduces a redesigned layout where Quick Settings and Notifications are separated—swiping from the right opens Quick Settings, while swiping from the left brings up Notifications. This separation creates more space in the Notification panel, allowing custom clock designs to carry over from the lock screen.

However, the final implementation may differ from Rahman’s test version. While most clock styles transferred correctly, some, like the weather clock, did not display in full.
