AIDSO: protest against the state government.

The All India Democratic Students Organization (AIDSO) organized a protest at Freedom Park on Saturday, urging the State government to provide scholarships to all eligible students. Former Lokayukta Justice N. Santosh Hegde criticized the current state of democracy, calling it a "government of a few, by a few, and for a few." He emphasized that health and education are fundamental responsibilities of the government and urged officials to fulfill their promises of financial assistance. He suggested that if the government claims budget constraints, legislators and ministers should contribute their salaries to fund student scholarships.

“Health and education are the primary responsibilities of the government towards the people. The government, which gives assurances of financial assistance during school and college admissions, must uphold its promises. If the government truly cares about students and claims that the budget is insufficient, then legislators and ministers should contribute their salaries towards student scholarships,” he said.

Social activist Ugranarsimhegowda criticized successive governments for promoting privatization in education, which he said creates discrimination among students. He condemned the government's neglect of students reliant on scholarships, calling for greater accountability and support for public education.
